BASIC COURSE OF MANIPULATION
In this course student will learn clay’s first rudiment: what it is, where it can be found, its colours and the different mixtures, the various techniques of shaping: ball, coil, slab and potter’s wheel, the use and production of slips, glazes and enamels, the different kinds of firing: in the oven, with gas or wood.
BASIC COURSE OF POTTER’S WHEEL
A course where students will learn the old art of turning, joy and sorrow of every potter
A NEOLITHIC WEEK: WORKSHOP
A “full immersion” week where we will be totally focused on the earth, our Mother, discovering the techniques used by our ancestors who, at the dawn of civilization, learned to know and use the clay , leading to what is called the " Neolithic Revolution ."
During the workshop we will learn how to prepare a mixture of clay ( starting with the one of Sapinecchio ) , how to manipulate it, how to decorate it and coat it with enamels, and finally how to build a wood-
The final firing of our artifacts in the kiln will be the culminating event of the course.
